The Great Western Hangover
Out Oct. 27th
Now available for preorder on bandcamp: HERE
This collection of songs have been gathered throughout the years of me living in California. They are a timeline, so to speak. I was born and raised on the Stanislaus river.
The artwork is mastercrafted by the one and only, Phil Vance. @philvance.art When Phil and I get around talking we come up with sparks that ignite. This particular piece is a result of one of those talks. All of his art is mind blowing. Go check out all his works they are masterpieces.
The music on this album was recorded in north western Oregon at Our Lady of Perpetual Heat Studios & Spa. We did it in two days, recording the tracks live. It was a fine gathering of fellers and lady fellers.

Willy Tea releases new recording of The Cattleman with The Fellership | Out out 7.28

Willy Tea Taylor releases a new recording of “The Cattleman” Friday, July 28th with The Fellership.

“The Cattleman” is a cowboy folk ode to Taylor’s grandfathers – Men of the West, who spent their lives driving cattle on horses and ended them on tractors. First released on Taylor’s folk album 4 Strings in 2011, this reimagining with The Fellership creates an echoing soundscape that paints a picture of cowboys meditating around golden California foothills slouched by the burden of responsibility to their herds.

When you hear Willy sing, you hear the romance of what was, the pain that follows, and the visuals that bring it all together. You’d call him a songwriter, we’d call him an artist.”  – Western AF

The Fellership features Taylor Kingman (TK & The Holy Know-Nothings), Tyler Thompson (Fruition, TK & The Holy Know-Nothings), Kris Stuart (Wanderlodge, Root Jack), Dylan Nicholson (The Turkey Buzzards), and Eric Patterson (The Turkey Buzzards) and was recorded live in two-and-a-half day session at Kingman’s childhood schoolhouse home, now deemed the Our Lady of Perpetual Heat Recording Studio & Spa in outside of Portland, Oregon.
